DIABLO CANYON POWER PLANT UNITS 1 AND 2 - WITHDRAWAL OF AN AMENDMENT REQUEST (TAC NOS. ME7502 AND ME7503)

Dear Mr. Halpin:

By letter dated October 20,2011 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML11312A166), as supplemented by letter dated December 6.2011 (ADAMS Accession No. ML11342A238), you applied for an amendment to the Diablo Canyon Power Plant (DCPP), Unit Nos. 1 and 2, Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-80, and DPR-82, respectively. Portions of the letter dated October 20, 2011, contained sensitive unclassified non-safeguards information and has been withheld from public disclosure.

The amendment would have revised the current licensing basis, as described in the Final Safety Analysis Report Update and Technical Specifications, to provide requirements for the actions, evaluations, and reports necessary when Pacific Gas and Electric identified new seismic information relevant to the design and operation of DCPP. Subsequently, by letter dated October 25, 2012 (ADAMS Accession No. ML12300A105), you withdrew the amendment request.

The purpose of this letter is to advise that the above-cited application is being treated as withdrawn. Notice of Consideration of Issuance of the proposed amendm had not been published in the Federal Register.
