Darrell White RP Supervisor Outage RWP Usage Recently, a question arose regarding the type ofradiation work permits (RWPs) used at Surry to control work during refueling outages. The practice at Surry is to suspend general RWPs and issue Unit specific special RWPs for the outage. This philosophy has been used for many years.
Procedurally, we are encouraged to use special RWPs for entries into high radiation areas and for maintenance on contaminated systems. In addition, our ALARA group uses data gathered from the special outage RWPs to capture lessons learned for future perfonnance improvement.
