MN No.12-025 U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION REGION I NOTICE OF LICENSEE MEETING September 27, 2012 Licensee: PPL Susquehanna, LLC Facility: Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos.: 50-387 and 50-388 Date/Time: October 16, 2012 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. - Meeting Location: Susquehanna Energy Information Center 634 Salem Boulevard Berwick, PA 18603

Purpose:

The NRC requested a Public Meeting with PPL to discuss the actions and progress in addressing two substantive cross-cutting issues (SCCIs) at Susquehanna. A SCCI is an issue that touches on multiple areas of performance for which the NRC has a concern. The SCCIs and request for this meeting are discussed in the NRCs 2012 Mid-Cycle Performance Review and Inspection Letter dated September 4, 2012 (ML12248A066).

NRC: B. Dean, Regional Administrator, Region I D. Roberts, Director, Division of Reactor Projects, Region 1 P. Krohn, Chief, Projects Branch 4, Region I P. Finney, Senior Resident Inspector, Susquehanna Licensee: T. Rausch, Senior Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer J. Helsel, Nuclear Plant Manager, SSES B. Drysdale, General Manager, Maintenance K. Cimorelli, General Manager, Programs Public Participation: The Susquehanna substantive cross-cutting issues meeting is a Category 1 Meeting. The public is invited to observe this meeting and will have opportunities to communicate with the NRC staff following the business portion, before the meeting is adjourned.

2 NRC representatives will also be available before and after the Public Meeting with PPL to engage in discussion with the public to ensure their issues and concerns may be presented, understood, and considered by the NRC.
