Fw: PLEASE DENY LICENSE EXTENSION TO INDIAN POINT DOCKETED USNRC September 14, 2012 (4:14 p.m.)
OFFICE OF SECRETARY September 14, 2012 RULEMAKINGS AND ADJUDICATIONS STAFF Re: Please deny a license extension to Indian Point Office of the Secretary, Rulemakings and Adjudications Staff, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Washington, DC 20555-0001 Fax: (301)415-1101 Email: hearing.docket,(Tnrc.gov.
Dear Sirs,
I am writing this email today to ask you to please deny the relicensing of Indian Point.
There are many reasons to deny this license. I live quite near Indian Point. In the town of Garrison, NY 10524. I do not drive. If there is ever a problem in this aging nuclear facility - I can not escape. I have two very elderly neighbors. They will not be able to escape.
Who will get us all out of Garrison and on to a "safe place". No one. What are we to do?
Indian Point is an accident just waiting to happen. It is 40 years old. Many years past its prime.
With many operational problems.
With its location in one of the mostly densely populated areas of New York State how will my neighbors who have cars and do drive get out. And where will they go? No one is answering these questions.
And lastly - what about the security risks I have been hearing about in the last few days? After 911 -Indian Point is a prime target for a terrorist attack.
I Please have some back bone and DO NOT RELICENCE this aging, dangious facility - Indian Point.
Very truly yours, Joyce Blum / Garrison, New York 2
