-- the risk of a catastrophic accident that could make this area, including New York City uninhabitable;
-- the lack of an evacuation plan for the 17 million people who live in a 50 mile radius of the reactors;
-- the regular, planned radioactive releases into the environment AND the unplanned leaks and spills, which pollute our air, water and land and cause health problems, especially for women, children and elderly residents
-- the fish kills and degradation of the Hudson River water caused by the huge amount of cooling water used each day.
-- the increasing amount of highly radioactive nuclear waste that is kept in dangerous spent fuel pools located right next to the Hudson River -- how can we continue to make more of this waste when there is no place to safely put it?
