Subject:
Against Relicensing Indian Point I oppose relicensing the Indian Point nuclear energy plant, which should never have been built so close to a major population center. The problems of its continued operation now are clear to me:
There is continuing danger of a tragic, catastrophic accident.
There is no possible plan for evacuation of the huge number of vulnerable people within the 50-mile radius of the plant.
There will be environmentally harmful, planned regular radioactive release and likely unplanned leaks and spills.
There will be continuing fish kills and river degradation from the cooling water intake and outflow.
There will be more accumulation of dangerous, highly radioactive spent nuclear waste in the pools right alongside the Hudson River. There is no other place to store it now.
Please don't take a chance on letting Indian Point endanger my family New York City and in other places nearby!
and neighbors here in Thank you, Ron Christensen Brooklyn, NY DOCKETED USNRC September 14, 2012 (2:34 p.m.)
