Docket, Hearing
Subject:
Indian Point Indian Point is NOT safe, and never has been safe, and it is far beyond it's designed life, with major corrosion and deterioration.
I live 171/2 miles from Indian Point, and I want it closed, and secured, with Entergy, the owner, covering 100% of the cost of closing and "safe" securing of the spent fuel for the next 900 years, with a bond to assure the cost of safe storage of that spent fuel, though I believe there is no such thing as 'safe" when it comes to nuclear.
If NYS DEC has refused to sign off on the clean water part, then you have a great justification right there, to refuse re-licensing.
NO nuclear power plant is safe anywhere, much less, within 50 miles of 20% of the of the US population. There is simply NO way the area could ever be evacuated.
Entergy agreed when they bought IP to install closed loop cooling and has failed to live up to that agreement.
There is a reason all of our home owner's insurance policies have an exclusion clause for nuclear, because nuclear is far to dangerous for them to insure.
IF Nuclear were safe, then the nuclear industry would not have pressed for legislation limiting liability. If it were safe they would welcome the repeal of that legislation.
When those who have a love of power, discover the power of love, the world will know peace.
