OFFICE OF SECRETARY RULEMAKINGS AND ADJUDICATIONS STAFF I am writing to urge the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to deny Entergy-s application f1o0r a 2.0-year license extension for the two operating nuclear reactors, IP-2 and IP-3, at Indian Point Energy Facility in Buchanan, NY.
Please our future generation's lives and health are at stake. Nuclear energy is very dangerous.
Any leak, accident, spill, natural disaster, and/or terrorist attack could damage the reactors and backup generators and release radioactive poison that would make this land uninhabitable for humans. If the grid were to go down from war, a solar flare, or a computer malfunction we could not keep the spent uranium in the cooling pools cold enough and this could lead to the meltdown of the plant.
Please invest in renewable, safe, and earth friendly technologies for energy. Greed and overconsumption are not acceptable at this time given the cumulative toll on the environment and humans by our rampantly destructive energy policy.
Please if you have any dignity close Indian point and all other nuclear facilities worldwide until a safer method can be achieved. A combination of 10,000 green technologies including conservation can meet our energy needs and replace oil, gas, coal, tar sands and nuclear.
Please.
Thank you.
Sincerely, Alexander Lines 1183 Wittenberg Rd.
