- Hello, I grew up in Rockland County, close enough to Indian Point to have a malfunctioning siren (during evacuation drill) outside my apartment. The evacuation then (over 30 years ago) was a joke.
Everyone was sent to the same highway. I do not believe it is possible to evacuate th epeople within 10 miles of the power plant.
What scares me more is my clear memory of a small earthquake that I felt, but was reported to be along a fault that was near or underneath Indian Point. I don't want anyone to forget about that fault line which has been quiet as far as I know. There are many of us who remember the concern about Indian Point being on a fault line at that time. Please keep that in mind in your deliberations, too many people's lives are at risk in that very populated area.
Thank you, Patricia E. Keoughan
