Thursday, September 06, 2012 9:24 PM Docket, Hearing Statement on Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant I want to see Indian Point shut down, first because of the spent fuel still accumulating there, for which there is no safe solution yet devised. Should a disaster like Fukushima or Chernobyl occur it would be a disaster of unprecedented proportions. All the residents of the Metropolitan area, way too many people to evacuate successfully, would be victims of this grave catastrophe.
The plant has been a disaster for the ecology of the Hudson River.
Environmental concerns have long since become critical. The simple precautionary principle dictates shutting IP down. Please vote to shut down this plant.
Sincerely, David Barouh, Brooklyn, NY DOCKETED USNRC September 6, 2012 (9:24 p.m.)
