OF CONFERENCE CALL HELD ON JUNE 4, 2012, BETWEEN THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION AND ENTERGY NUCLEAR OPERATIONS, INC., CONCERNING THE REACTOR VESSEL INTERNALS PROGRAM AT INDIAN POINT NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION, UNITS 2 AND 3 Representatives of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff), and representatives of Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc., (Entergy or the applicant), held a conference call on June 4, 2012, for the staff to provide clarification on a request for additional information (RAI) issued May 15, 2012, (ADAMS Accession No. ML12125A342) related to the Indian Point (IP)
Nuclear Generating Station, Units 2 and 3 license renewal application. This call was a follow-up to a call held May 24, 2012, which is discussed in a call summary (ADAMS Accession No. ML12215A038). In the call of May 24, 2012, the applicant indicated that it would not be able to respond in the time given in the NRCs RAI letter. In that call, the staff indicated that it would provide feedback on the applicants planned response. In the call of June 4, 2012, the staff indicated that it expected the response to address the RAIs issued; for items to which the applicant could not respond within the given timeframe, the staff stated that it expected the applicant to indicate when it anticipates responding to the RAI in its entirety.
The applicant had an opportunity to comment on this summary.
