Founded in 2001, Kids X-Press. Inc. is a nonprofit organization devoted to giving children the opportunity to express themselves and to see their names in print. What began as an elementary-school newspaper has been transformed into an influential children's literary magazine. At present, we have reached an annual distribution of over 200,000!
Through our flagship magazine and workshops, Kids X-Press, Inc. provides a forum for children to hone their literary skills in a fun, relaxed environment. Kids X-Press is distributed to schools, libraries, stores and community centers throughout the New York Metropolitan area as well as in Newark, NJ, Philadelphia, PA, Chicago, IL, and New Orleans, LA.
Published on a quarterly basis, each magazine has a theme where students interview notable individuals on the topic, while other students write essays and poetry to communicate their viewpoints on the topic at hand.
The success of this program is intrinsically tied to the corporate philanthropy of Entergy.
As the owner of the Indian Point Energy Center, Entergy remains a critical and major employer-donating millions of dollars to a myriad of worthy causes, hospitals, educational institutions, regional associations and municipalities. Without their continuing service to the community and vital investments into non-profit programs and projects, we will see a dramatic decrease in the number of non-government groups and associations serving students and promoting literacy.
Thus as the owner of the Indian Point Energy Center, Kids X-Press hereby supports and petitions the Atomic Safety Licensing Board and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to Kids X-Press, Inc.
