REQUEST FOR TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE ON PROPOSED EXEMPTION FROM THE REVISED EMERGENCY PLANNING RULE FOR THE HUMBOLDT BAY POWER PLANT UNIT 3 (TAC NO. J00435)
By letter dated August 14, 2012, Pacific Gas and Electric Company submitted a request for exemption from specific requirements of 10 CFR Part 50.47, Emergency Plans and 10 CFR 50, Appendix E, Emergency Planning and Preparedness for Production and Utilization Facilities.
The exemption request was predicated by the issuance of a Final Rule promulgating Enhancements to Emergency Preparedness Regulations in the Federal Register on November 23, 2011. Please review the request and provide a Safety Evaluation by February 14, 2012. A copy of the request is enclosed.
