10 CFR 2.206 Petition Public Meeting: September 10, 2012, Re: Cybersecurity Please be advised that you, among all licensed nuclear power plants, are the subject of a public meeting related to a 2.206 petition.

Summary:

On July 30, 2012, a 10 CFR 2.206 petition was submitted requesting that the NRC take enforcement-related action against all NRC licensees as a result of information provided on a Bloomberg News Agency broadcast which described a cybersecurity incident at Diablo Canyon (ADAMS Accession No. ML12215A022). Mr.

Saporito, the petitioner, has requested an opportunity to address the NRCs Petition Review Board (PRB) in person before it meets internally to make its initial recommendation.

Meeting details:

A public meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 10, 2012, from 12 noon - 2 pm, at the NRC Headquarters in Rockville, MD. Any licensees that want to dial in should contact Tanya Mensah (meeting contact) for the dial-in number. Please contact Tanya by email to Tanya.Mensah@nrc.gov by Friday, August 31, 2012, 12:00 p.m. EDT to obtain the telephone number and the passcode.

This is a Category 3 public meeting, where the public is normally invited to participate in the meeting by providing comments and asking questions throughout the meeting. In this instance, the public will have an opportunity to ask questions pertaining only to the 10 CFR 2.206 processes, after the petitioner completes his uninterrupted presentation to PRB.

Participants from the NRC include members of the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR), the Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response (NSIR), the Office of Federal and State Materials and Environmental Management Programs (FSME), the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards (NMSS), the NRCs Region IV Office (RIV), the Office of Enforcement (OE), and the Office of the General Counsel (OGC).
