Retracted Event Reports, Such as 48018 on 8-8-2012 Good morning Jack, Once any Event Report is written, it is my opinion that retractions should not be accepted. The most recent example is the Entergy/Palisades "retraction" of a report of leaking borated water, (not Event Number 48182). Wouldn't it make more sense to use resources to find the leak, (or leaks), rather than find "reasons" why the report should not have been written?
I am asking you to consider a submitted Event Report "retraction" as one clear indication of the current safety culture being sub-standard.
(Note that Entergy/Palisades Event Reports 48018 and 48182 both report borated water leaks.)
Thank you, Tom Gurdziel I
