Dear Chairman Jaczko:
Please be advised that the Town of Harwich, Massachusetts approved on May 15, 2012 a local ballot question pertaining to the Pilgrim Nuclear Plant in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
The question before the voters read:
"Shall the Town of Harwich instruct the Board of Selectmen to write letters requesting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Governor of Massachusetts to extend the emergency zone and radiological response plan around the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station in Plymouth from a radius of 10 miles to include all of Cape Cod?"
The vote was 1001 in favor, 258 opposed. Given that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's mission reads "Protecting People and the Environment", we urge you to include inlyouir re-1icensing of the Pilgrim Nuclear Plant, a requirement to extend the emergency zone and radiological response plan from the current 10 miles to include all of Cape Cod.
