STAFF REQUIREMENTS - SECY-12-0062 - RENEWAL OF FULL-POWER OPERATING LICENSE FOR PILGRIM NUCLEAR POWER STATION The Commission has approved the staffs recommendation to authorize the Director of the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation to renew the operating license for the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station upon his making the appropriate findings on safety and environmental matters.

The Commission recognizes that in view of the petition for review pending before it and the motions to reopen and intervention petitions pending before the Atomic Safety & Licensing Board, if the renewed license is subsequently set aside on appeal, the previous operating license would be reinstated in accordance with 10 CFR 54.31(c).
