Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No.2 Docket No. 50-412, License No. NPF-73 Correction Letter To The Revised Steam Generator Inspection Scope Using F*

Inspection Methodology Amendment (TAC NO. ME3498)

By correspondence dated February 24, 2011 (Accession No. ML110350162), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Amendment No. 172 for Beaver Valley Power Station Unit No.2. The amendment revised the scope of the steam generator (SG) tube inspections for the portion of the tube in the tubesheet on the cold-leg side of the SG by using the F* methodology.

By correspondence dated April 6, 2012 (Accession No. ML120940576), the NRC provided corrections to the Safety Evaluation. During the review of this letter, three items were noted as listed below:

  • Safety Evaluation, page 1, first paragraph refers to a licensee supplement dated November 10, 2010. The correct supplement date is November 30, 2010 .
  • Safety Evaluation, page 4, fifth paragraph refers toa licensee supplement dated November 10, 2010. The correct supplement date is November 30, 2010 .

.. Safety Evaluation, page 5, first paragraph refers to the proposed provisions of Technical Specification (TS) 5.5.5.2.c.5.b that apply to a tube which has any portion of a sleeve joint in the hot-leg tubesheet region. The proposed provisions of TS 5.5.5.2.c.5.b apply for tubes that have any portion of a sleeve joint in the hot-leg or cold-leg tubesheet region.
