FACILITY: PEACH BOTTOM ATOMIC POWER STATION, UNITS 2 AND 3

SUMMARY

OF APRIL 25, 2012 ANNUAL ASSESSMENT MEETING AND OPEN HOUSE On April 25, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, the NRC conducted a public meeting and open house at the Peach Bottom Inn in Delta, PA. The NRC conducted the Annual Assessment Meeting to discuss the NRCs assessment of the safety performance of the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station for 2011.

A notice of the meeting and agenda was issued on April 25, and was posted on the NRCs external (public) web page (ADAMS Accession No. ML12116A081).

The NRC presented poster boards and handouts, met with members of the public, answered questions and listened to statements from members of the public, and were available to discuss its assessment of the safety performance of Peach Bottom Units 2 and 3 for the period of January 1 through December 31, 2011, as documented in our letter dated March 5, 2012 (ADAMS Accession No. ML12060A130). The NRC poster boards presented included background on the Reactor Oversight Process (ROP). Additional information relative to the NRC's Annual Assessment Process and the safety performance of Peach Bottom Units 2 and 3 can be found on the NRC's web site at: www.nrc.gov/NRR/OVERSIGHT/ASSESS/index.html.

Members of the public, local officials, state officials, and members of the media attended the meeting and were offered the opportunity to question the NRC regarding Peach Bottoms performance and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations.
