PROJECT NO. P-6335-VA/ NATDAM NO. VA83005 NORTH ANNA HYDROELECTRIC PROJECT DAM SAFETY SURVEILLANCE MONITORING REPORT As requested by FERC letter dated April 25, 2011, North Anna Power Station hereby submits the annual Dam Safety Surveillance Monitoring Report (DSSMR) for 2011.
The results of our dam safety surveillance and instrumentation monitoring plan are evaluated on a real time basis (i.e., following completion of each inspection and test).
The dam is performing as designed based on visual inspections and the evaluation of geotechnical instrumentation. There are no significant dam safety issues existing at the project.
As a
result of test equipment malfunctions the nine (9) pneumatic piezometer instrumentation readings for January through May 2011 were unable to be performed.
Testing of the nine (9) pneumatic piezometers was completed on June 6, 2011 with satisfactory results.
