Submittal of revised Technical Specifications for Possession-Only License R-77 to Commence Decommissioning Activities at the Buffalo Materials Research Center
Dear Sir or Madam:
The State University of New York at Buffalo respectfully requests approval to commence decommissioning activities of the Buffalo Materials Research Center (BMRC) through amendment of the R-77 Technical Specifications (TS) and approval of the BMRC Decommissioning Plan (DP). The revised Technical Specification and the BMRC DP are enclosed on electronic media. Appended to the BMRC DP is an Activation Analysis and Component Characterization of the reactor, the Site Characterization Report, and a Decommissioning Environmental Report. The Historical Site Assessment (HSA) is also enclosed for your reference.
The requested changes to the TS and the development of the BMRC DP have been approved by the Reactor Decommissioning Safety Committee.
