Exelon VCS - Requested JT / Marilyn:

The following information is provided pursuant to discussions with NRC representatives in the morning hydrology break-out session on 1/11/2012.

Coleto Creek (Codell):

Certificate of Adjudication No. 18-5486A (attached) provides maximum authorized consumptive use at Coleto Creek Reservoir (with both units after 2015).

Major Municipal Surface Water Diversions (Withdrawals) and Treated Wastewater Discharges (Returns) in the Guadalupe - San Antonio River Basin (Codell):

Graphics summarizing the major diversions and discharges (used in hydrology presentation on 1/10/2012) are available in the Environmental Flows Standards & Strategies Recommendations Report of the GSA BBASC available at the following website (http://www.tceq.state.tx.us/permitting/water_supply/water_rights/eflows/guadalupe-sanantonio-bbsc ). See pp. 29-30 of the PDF (pp. 15-16 of the report).

Salinity Calculations (Codell):

Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) estimates of historical freshwater inflows to the Guadalupe Estuary are available at the following website (http://midgewater.twdb.state.tx.us/bays_estuaries/hydrology/summary/guadalupesum.txt ).

Information regarding salinity in the Guadalupe Estuary is available at (http://midgewater.twdb.state.tx.us/bays_estuaries/b_nEpage.html#methodology ). Well down this page under San 1

Antonio Bay (Guadalupe Estuary) one may find the attached Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) report.

Equations relating bay salinity at three locations to monthly freshwater inflow may be found in this report (attached).

See p. 62 of PDF, p. 60 of the report for these equations. The Lower San Antonio Bay location is most proximate to primary whooping crane winter habitat. Exercise care in applying these equations as they are inaccurate at low inflows.

Should additional information be needed, please contact me at your convenience.
