North Anna Status

Russ, I just talked to Region II (Jim Hickey). The region is still in monitoring Mode and maintaining a bridgeline with the licensee.

North Anna is still in an Alert. Offsite power restored and all EDG's secured. The 2H EDG is still inoperable by available.

They are awaiting results of post maintenance testing todeclare it operable (there was a leak on a jacket water HX gasket).

Unit 1: Licensee restarted 1C RCP. They are using it to establish forced circulation and mix in the boron so they can verify adequate S/D boron concentration and proceed to cold S/D.

Unit 2: Making preps to start 2C RCP and stabilize the plant for Cold S/D. They will cool down the plants one at a time.

Once they establish forced circulation in Unit 2 w/2C RCP the licensee anticipates de-escalating from the Alert down to UE.
