Mr. Gunter, On October 20, 2011, as supplemented November 2, 2011, you and the other petitioners referenced in the petition (the petitioners) submitted a petition pursuant to 10 CFR 2.206 requesting suspension of the operating licenses for the North Anna Power Station, Units 1 and 2 (North Anna 1 and 2) until the completion of a set of activities described in the petition. In addition, in the supplement dated November 2, 2011, the petitioners ask for greater access to certain documents concerning North Anna 1 and 2. This petition was further supplemented by the petitioners in a meeting with the NRC Petition Review Board (PRB) on December 12, 2011.
The NRC PRB met internally on January 9, 2012, to discuss your petition in accordance with the criteria for review and rejection described in NRC Management Directive 8.11. Attached below please find the NRC PRB recommendations for each of your concerns. On January 19, 2012, I sent you an email with a summary of the PRBs initial recommendation. This email provides additional detail regarding the PRBs initial recommendation in order to better assist you in preparation for our meeting on February 2, 2012.
