ACCEPTANCE OF LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION, CALLAWAY PLANT UNIT 1 The Environmental Review and Guidance Update Branch (RERB) of the Division of License Renewal has reviewed the environmental information submitted by the Union Electric Company, a subsidiary of Ameren Corporation and doing business as Ameren Missouri (Ameren, or the applicant) in the Callaway Plant Unit 1 License Renewal Application, Appendix E, Applicant's Environmental Report - Operating License Renewal Stage, December 2012. The RERB review covered all portions of the applicants Environmental Report except for Section 4.20 Severe Accident Mitigation Alternatives. Based on the RERB review, the applicant's Environmental Report meets the requirements of 10 CFR 51.45, 10 CFR 51.53, and Regulatory Guide 4.2, Supplement 1, Preparation of Supplemental Environmental Reports for Applications to Renew Nuclear Power Plant Operating Licenses, and provides sufficient information to accept the Environmental Report and to start the environmental review.
