FW: NRC export - import requirements Were you going to put this incoming into ADAMS (with the docket number marked)? I received one from him also. I was going to put mine in there - I think it would be best. After all, they are incoming from the applicant. If we had any further problems with his actions, these emails show his receipt of the application and the information you provided him on the export.

In regards to the re export of the product, we have not finalized the decision as we just received a closure to the investigation, we are trying to get some additional information in regards to the processing of our pending application before deciding on final course of action.

I do appreciate your information, and if we do decide to go with such course, I will contact you to ensure it would be in accordance with NRC guidelines Thank you Sincerely, Ashfaq Kazi Universal Product Concepts Inc.

NRC export - import requirements

Dear Mr. Kazi,

In follow up to the recent communications and proceedings with NRC regarding import and distribution of smoke detectors, I wanted to ensure you had appropriate information in support of your decisions going forward regarding the smoke detectors. If your decision is ultimately to re-export the smoke detectors, you can find guidance regarding export requirements on our website at: http://www.nrc.gov/about-nrc/ip/export-import.html. Additionally, please feel free to contact myself or any other member of our export licensing staff regarding export/import regulation.

Kind regards, Brian Wittick U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Office of International Programs Ph: 301-415-2496 Cell: 301-263-4107 Fax: 301-415-2395
