RE: RESPONSE: Possible Future Commission Meetings Staff has been keeping the Commission informed via TA briefs. Is there any expectations that the June paper will be significantly different than what will be in the draft paper? If there is no extension request, and the draft paper comes up in October, SECY would treat'the paper as an extension request because the action would not be closed.
We've been showing the October paper as a voting paper, now you say the staff will not be asking the Commission to vote on any issues/recommendations... I'm confused. Part of the action is to provide recommendations. We'll need to get this sorted out.
In the mean time, I'm going add the information you've shared to the list of action items coming to the Commission.
Thank you, Rochelle From: Giessner, John Sent: Thursday, August 05, 2010 12:47 PM To: Bavol, Rochelle Cc: Mamish, Nader; Andersen, James; Brock, Kathryn

RE: RESPONSE: Possible Future Commission Meetings With this efforts spanning many years we felt the Commission should see the bulk of the paper (for information and there is a lot of interest). There is no vote. I am OK submitting an extension. SOARCA has no vote that I know of, but the analysis has been subject of many discussions and we are required to keep the CMRs up to date in accordance with SRM-CMSY06-0064.

RE: RESPONSE: Possible Future Commission Meetings Why would staff send a "draft" paper? What do they plan to tell the Commission? Also, would they be asking the Commission to vote on anything in the "draft" paper?
Why wouldn't an extension request be submitted, rather than sending a "draft" paper? Will they be asking the Commission to vote on anything (any policy decision) in the June paper?

RE: RESPONSE: Possible Future Commission Meetings We are planning (although it is still in our review cycle) to have a TA briefing later this month where we tell the TAs based on the ACRS feedback to do uncertainly analysis that the Oct paper will be a draft paper; then the final paper after uncertainly analyses will be done in June (the April or May was an earlier plan this week).
There is no WITS item yet. Our plan would be, after the TA discussion, to create or move the current tracking item.

FW: RESPONSE: Possible Future Commission Meetings
- Jack, There is a meeting on SOARCA on this, and staff indicates a paper due in April 2011. Do you know what paper it is? The paper on the results of the peer review of Peach Bottom and Surry is due to the Commission 10(29(10. I can't find anything that SECY is tracking for SOARCA or RES that is due in April or May 2011.
