Dear Ms. Lewison,
Thank you for the comments you provided to the NRC staff regarding the Palisades Nuclear Plant. They have been read by the recipients. Your comments are publically available in the NRCs online documents system ADAMS under Accession Number ML120240447.
The NRC will make a final decision regarding the safety significance of issues discussed during the January 11, 2012, Regulatory Conferences based on information and analysis gathered during the special inspections and the Regulatory Conferences. We will communicate our conclusions in a publically available document, including a press release.
The NRC has about 30 to 60 days from the day of the Regulatory Conferences to issue its final determination. However, we are often able to make a determination closer to the 30-day mark which, in this case, would be in the middle of February.
We appreciate your participation in the Regulatory Conferences, as well as your comments and questions for the NRC staff.
