CD We are writing with regard to the Hanford Tri Party: USDOE; EPA; Washington State Department of Ecology Public Involvement Plan requesting comments by Dec. 15, 2011. We have attended a meeting sponsored by The Heart of America Northwest wherein they discussed their comments on the plan. We are writing in support of the recommendations made by this organization and urge you to incorporate them into your plan.

We urgently request that the risks of the experimental plutonium fuel, the same as used in the Fukishima Reactor 3, be included/disclosed in the Environmental Impact Statement slated to be released in 2012 for the relicensing of the Hanford Nuclear Reactor. Given the engineering, environmental, and economic impacts of the release of this most horrible nuclear substance into the entire Pacific Rim ecosystem, it is important that these impacts on the Columbia Basin be explained to the citizenry so they can be knowledgably informed of the risks and benefits to their social and physical stability.

The Public Involvement Plan under review is an excellent platform for discussion of the many challenges facing the Pacific Northwest when considering the relicensing of the Hanford Reactor.

We look forward to the implementation of this Plan and our involvement in the discussion.
