RE: Re-use of contaminated soil at excavation site.
I am at Surry this week, but will try and give you a call if I can. Unfortunately, I can't forward you an internal NRC email like that. That would probably take a FOIA request. If I can get a hold of you, we can go over it again and I can see if Richard Conatser listed any publicly available references in his email.
If there are any prohibitions against backfilling the excavation site listed in your in-house procedures, I would encourage you to follow those until getting them changed. And if they refer to any guidance documents as to why you should not backfill, I would be interested to see them.
Thanks for the GT support. We beat the wolfpack, but it was an ugly win. I'll take it though.

Adam, is there any way I can get a copy of the email that you referenced for our records. As I mentioned we have hp the serious tritium leak and are moving forward with excavation. I hope all is well and you Jackets beat the wolfpack.

Subj-ctRe-use of conta-mifited soil at excavation site.
Please provide some official documentation that will allow Plant Hatch to re-use soil determined to process by product radioactive material as back-fill in an Appendix D excavation site. This documentation will be used to justify the needed in-hnuse (AG-HPX-07-0401) and NMP (NMP-HP-300) procedure revisions. If you have any questions please let me know.
