Site : SAINT LUCIE Emergency Class : NON EMERGENCY Unit 1 47% Mode 1; Unit 2 100% Mode 1; 10CFR50.72(b)(2)(xi) OFFSITE NOTIFICATION "On October 23, 2011, one juvenile Green Sea Turtle was found dead in the plant's intake canal.
Preliminary determination is that the injuries were non-causal to plant operation.
"Per the plant's turtle permit, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWCC) was notified at 1428 EDT. FWCC agreed the death was non-causal to plant operation. This non-emergency notification is being made pursuant to 10 CFR 50.72(b)(2)(xi) due to the notification of the FWCC."
The licensee notified the NRC Resident Inspector. Notified R2DO (Lesser) and the Endangered Species Group via email.
