Docket No. 50-275-LR Docket No. 50-323-LR PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANYS RESPONSE TO LICENSING BOARD QUESTION AT ORAL ARGUMENT INTRODUCTION At the oral argument on October 13, 2011, the Licensing Board questioned whether any NRC regulation requires an update of a license renewal application environmental report. The only regulation requiring updates to a license renewal application is 10 C.F.R.
§ 54.21(b), which does not explicitly extend to the environmental report. However, in practice, other considerations may lead to an update of the environmental report in the event of new and significant information within the scope of 10 C.F.R. § 51.53(c)(M)(iv), including NRC Staff requests for additional information and 10 C.F.R. § 54.13(a).
Respectfully submitted, Executed in accord with 10 C.F.R. 2.304(d)
