Inquiring About Current Status of Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant SEIS
- Hello, My name is Aruna Prabhala and I am interested in the current status of the supplemental EIS for the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant that is being completed by the NRC as part of the plant's license renewal application.
I noticed that a scoping meeting took place in March of last year but was unable to find any information on recent developments in the supplemental EIS process. The NRC website concerning the Diablo Canyon Power Plant License renewal (http://www.nrc.gov/reactors/operating/licensing/renewal/applications/diablo-canyon.html) states only that the date for the publication of the supplemental EIS is still to be determined. Is there a tentative timeline for the publication of the supplemental EIS? Have any documents been completed as part of the supplemental EIS? For example, have any Endangered Species Act Section 7 Consultations/Bio-Opinions have been done for the current supplemental EIS so far? Also, has a supplemental EIS been drafted for this power plant in the past?
Lastly, the public notice of the scoping meeting in March 2010 stated that the NRC staff will prepare a summary of its conclusions on significant issues from the meeting, however despite searching the NRC ADAMS database I have been unable to find it. If you could direct me to where it is or provide me a copy, I would be most appreciative.
