U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION RECEIPT OF EMERGENCY ACTION LEVEL FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION Ms. Perkins-Grew:
By email dated October 12, 2011 (attached), my staff received a question from an individual submitted under the current Emergency Action Level Frequently Asked Question (EAL FAQ) process, as outlined in a staff Letter to the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), dated August 31, 2005, (Agency wide Documents Access & Management System Accession No.:
ML051950112). In accordance with this process, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission is forwarding this FAQ to NEI for evaluation by the industry EAL Task Force and development of the proposed solution/answer to the question(s).
We are requesting that the NEI EAL Task Force complete this review in time to support a proposed Category 2 Public Meeting on or around March 27, 2012, at NRC Headquarters (meeting notice forthcoming).
Ms. Perkins-Grew Please contact me as soon as possible if this date is unacceptable or to obtain further clarification on EAL FAQ process.
