Dear Ms. Diaz-Toro:
This letter responds to James Park's email to Susan Gray of my staff on August 31, 2011 for support related to the preparation of an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed subject action. Specifically you requested information on State-listed, proposed, and candidate species and critical habitat that may be in the vicinity of CCNPP Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI).
The recent evaluation of rare species on the Calvert Cliffs campus related to the proposed Calvert Cliffs Unit 3 project did not identify any RT&E species located near the existing ISFSI. Therefore, the Department's environmental review has concluded that we have no comment in regard to potential impacts to rare, threatened and endangered species for the proposed license renewal for the ISFSI.
