Notification for a Change of the Operating Contractor at the West Valley Demonstration Project (WVDP)
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen:
Please be advised, effective August 29,2011, the operating contractor at the WVDP is now CH2M HILL B&W, LLC (CHBWV). The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) awarded the Phase I Decommissioning and Facility Disposition Contract at the WVDP to CHBWV on June 29, 2011. The CHBWV team has completed a 60-day contract transition phase following the June 29 award.
The Phase I is the first of a two-phase process for the final decommissioning orthe WVDP. The scope of work includes:
- Project management and support services;
- Site operations, maintenance, and utilities;
- High-level waste canister relocation;
- Waste Tank Farm management;
- NRC-licensed disposal area management;
- Waste management and nuclear materials disposition; and
There will be an opportunity to meet members of the CHBWV team at our upcoming regulatory roundtable. In the meantime, if you have any questions or comments, please contact Moira N. Maloney of my staffat (716) 942-4255.
