SAFETY EVALUATION FOR MAINE YANKEE ATOMIC ELECTRIC COMPANY, MAINE YANKEE ISFSI PROPOSED EXEMPTIONS TO REVISED POWER REACTOR SECURITY RULE TITLE 10 OF THE CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS SECTION 73.55 The staff has completed its review of the proposed Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 73.55 exemption requests submitted by Maine Yankee Atomic Electric Company, Maine Yankee (MY) Independent Spent Fuel Storage Facility (ISFSI) by letter dated November 29, 2010. Based on our review, we find the proposed exemptions to be acceptable.

Within 120 days of receiving the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)s evaluation letter, MY will revise the applicable portions of the MY ISFSI physical security plan (PSP) and submit to the NRC for review. The enclosed Safety Evaluation Report provides our evaluation of the licensees exemption requests.

This completes our review under TAC No. L24499.
