On August 16, 2011, the NRC Staff filed a motion, pursuant to 10 C.F.R. § 2.323(c),
requesting an extension to September 6, 2011, for all parties to file their answers to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Motion to Supplement Bases to Commonwealth Contention to Address NRC Task Force Report on Lessons Learned from the Radiological Accident at Fukushima, filed August 11, 2011.1 The Staff represents that all parties are in agreement with the request,2 which is based on the Staffs current deadline for responding to new contentions in 17 license renewal and combined operating license proceedings that are based on the NRCs 1 NRC Staffs Unopposed Motion for an Extension to September 6, 2011, to File a Response to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Motion (Aug. 16, 2011) [hereinafter Staff Motion].

2 near-Term Task Force Report on insights from the accident at the Fukushim Dai-ichi plant in Japan,3 which is also the basis for the Commonwealths Motion.4 For good cause shown, the Staffs Motion is hereby GRANTED.
