Dear Mr. Denton:
This letter provides the.certification required by 10CFR50.71(e)(2) to be included with the submittal of the Duane Arnold Energy Center (DAEC) Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR). The DAEC UFSAR being submitted,is considered accurate to January 22, 1982, six months prior to the submittal of July 22, 1982.
The information contained in the DAEC UFSAR accurately presents changes made since submitting the original DAEC FSAR and amendments, necessary to reflect information and analyses submitted to the NRC or prepared pursuant to NRC requirement. The DAEC UFSAR contains no changes made under the provisions of 10CFR50.59 that have not been previously submitted to the NRC. There were no changes during the period January 1 to 22, 1982. Changes, tests, and experiments for the calendar year 1981 were reported by previous submittal dated February 26, 1982.
During the preparation of the DAEC UFSAR, we have used the opportunity to modify the format such that it essentially follows that outlined in Regulatory Guide 1.70 Revision 3. The content and level of detail in the reformatted document, however, remain that of the original FSAR as updated. We expect this change in format to enhance our responsiveness to future regulatory issues.
