Dear Mr. Hudgins:

Thank you for meeting with me and my team onJuly 12, 2011. The purpose of the meeting was to inform your office about the NRC staff review process of the STP Nuclear Operating Company (STPNOC) license renewal application for South Texas Project (STP), units 1 and 2, and to solicit pertinent information concerning groundwater use for the review. STPNOC submitted the application on October 28, 2010, in accordance with 10 CFR 54.17.

Based on our discussions, the staff requests that the Coastal Plains Groundwater Conservation District provides a list of all Shallow Chicot Aquifer and Deep Chicot Aquifer wells permitted by the District within 10 miles of STP, units 1 and 2 (i.e., use the coordinates N361,600, E2,945,000, or latitude 28.79388809 and longitude -96.05166626 as the center point or origin for the 10-mile radius). If possible, please also provide a map of these wells.

The requested information can either be mailed to the address below or e-mailed via replying to this e-mail distribution, if practicable.
