MILLSTONE POWER STATION UNIT 2 WITHDRAWAL OF RELIEF REQUEST RR-04-07, EXAMINATION CRITERIA FOR WELD OVERLAYS In a letter dated July 29, 2010 (Reference 1), and supplemented by a letter dated March 1, 2011 (Reference 2), Dominion Nuclear Connecticut, Inc. (DNC) requested approval of Relief Request RR-04-07 for the use of the examination criteria in American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Code Case N-770-1.
The duration of the proposed request was for the current Millstone Power Station Unit 2 (MPS2) fourth 10-year inservice inspection interval, which began on April 1, 2010 and ends on March 31, 2020.
On July 21, 2011, the NRC amended its regulations to incorporate by reference ASME Code Case N-770-1.
Because this code case is now mandated by the NRC, Relief Request RR-04-07 is no longer needed.
Hence, DNC hereby withdraws its request for NRC approval of Relief Request RR-04-07.
