D.C. Cook Unit 1 - Commitment change re. Relief Request ISIR-32 (TAC ME2304)

Michael:

By letter dated 6/6/2011 (NRC Accession No. ML11166A068) you conveyed a commitment change regarding steam generator bolting inspection. Our reviewer who did the review of your Relief Request ISIR-32 (relief issued as Pascarelli letter, 2/26/2010) told me that we do not need to revise the SE as result of your letter. The SE evaluated the completion of the required ASME Code examinations one outage later. The authorization of the relief was not predicated on how the ASME Code-required exam was accomplished, but rather if it was acceptable to delay the examination and what alternative exams would be completed in the interim. The only change was the licensees commitment, which is acceptable to NRC, as the method the licensee now commits to use will still satisfy the ASME Code inspection requirement, since the code case referenced is acceptable for use in RG 1.147.

This e-mail acknowledges our receipt of your 6/6/11 letter, and to inform you that there is no need for us to do anything as result of your letter.
