SUMMARY
OF PUBLIC SCOPING MEETINGS CONDUCTED RELATED TO THE REVIEW OF THE DAVIS-BESSE NUCLEAR POWER STATION STATION, UNIT NO. 1, LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff conducted environmental scoping meetings related to the review of the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station (Davis-Besse) license renewal application submitted by FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC). Two public meetings were conducted on November 4, 2010, at the Camp Perry Lodging and Conference Center, 1000 Lawrence Road, Building 600, Port Clinton, OH 43452. Approximately 60 people attended the meetings. The attendees included members of the NRC staff, members of the public, representatives from FENOC, news media, and government officials. Public comments and questions were mainly focused on the emergency preparedness and the safety of DAVIS-BEESE.
A combined listing of attendees for both sessions is provided in Enclosure 1. Enclosures 2 and 3 contain the official corrected transcripts for the afternoon and evening meetings, respectively. Enclosure 4 contains a copy of the slides used during the NRC=s presentation.
