STP Nuclear Operating Company (STPNOC) submitted the Financial Assurance for Decommissioning - 2011 Update for South Texas Project, Units 1 and 2 by letter dated March 24, 2011 and Revised by letter dated April 13, 2011. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff needs additional information to complete its review of the submitted information.
The Draft Request for Additional Information (RAI) was provided to your staff via e-mail on May 17, 2011. Mr. Phil Walker of your staff requested for some clarifications on May 24, 2011. The NRC staff provided the clarifications via e-mail on June 1, 2011. Mr. Walker confirmed on June 8, 2011 that STPNOC understands the RAIs and will respond to the NRC request within 30 days from the date of this e-mail. A copy of the formal RAI is attached.
