05/26/11, 1:00 PM, CONFERENCE CALL WITH TRANSNUCLEAR AND PRAIRIE ISLAND TO DISCUSS THEIR COMMENTS ON THE DRAFT CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE CONCERNING THE MODEL NO. TN-40 TRANSPORTATION PACKAGE

Meraj Rahimi Jayant Bondre Oley Nelson Zhian Li Prakash Narayanan Lee Sampson Huda Akhavannik Kamran Tavassoli Meraj Rahimi Bob Einziger Michael Waters Staff, Prairie Island, and TN discussed the comments provided on the draft CoC provided to TN on 5/23/2011. Particularly, staff wished to discuss the comments for the value of boron enrichment in condition 5(b)(1)XIV, the comments on the irradiation history limitations that staff had placed in condition 5(b)(1)XVI, and the comments on the fuel loading limitations placed in condition 6(c). Staff requested additional analyses to support their requested changes to the condition for the boron enrichment and the soluble boron concentration. For condition 6(c),
Prairie Island felt that it was too restrictive and would not allow the fuel to be re-loaded per the operating procedures. Staff, TN, and Prairie Island discussed and agreed upon possible rewording that would be less restrictive, yet maintain that the original content in the cask be reloaded. TN indicated that they would send the requested information for staff to review as soon as possible.
