The following is provided as an item of information. Dr. Thomas H. Newton has been named interim Director of Reactor Operations for the MIT Research Reactor effective 4 May 2011. He succeeds Dr. John A. Bernard who remains a staff member of the Nuclear Reactor Laboratory. Dr.
Newton's education and experience exceed the requirements of MITR technical specification No. 7.1.4.
