ZION NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 - EXEMPTION FROM RECORD KEEPING REQUIREMENTS (TAC NOS. J00400 AND J00401)

Dear Mr. Christian:

The United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission has granted the enclosed partial exemption from the record keeping Requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR)

Part 50.71(c); 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix A; 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B; and 10 CFR 50.59(d)(3), as requested in your letter dated February 28, 2011, as supplemented on April 5, 2011. The requested exemption and application of the exemption will eliminate the requirement to maintain records that are no longer necessary due to the permanently shut-down and decommissioning status of the facility.

A copy of this exemption is enclosed and has been forwarded to the Office of the Federal Register for publication. If you have any questions concerning this evaluation, please contact John Hickman at (301) 415-3017.
