Dear Mr. Rittmer:
The purpose of this letter is to convey the Portable Seismic Acoustic Sensor Kit (PSASK) to Florida Power and Light Company from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for test and evaluation purposes.
The PSASK is under research, development, test and evaluation by the Counterterrorism Technical Support Office (CTTSO), Technical Support Working Group, Physical Protection subgroup.
The kit is being forwarded to your company so that it may be assessed by your staff to determine its capabilities, identify site conditions where most suitable and document how the system could be modified to best suit your needs. Please provide documented feedback in these areas of assessment. The feedback will then be conveyed back to the CTTSO to further the development of the system. The system will undergo further development in FY2012 and your feedback may be used to enhance the system development.
Please send the kit to the destination designated by Mr. Albert Tardiff, Senior Security Specialist, Fuel Cycle and Transportation Security Branch, Division of Security Policy, Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response, when your assessment is complete.
