Austin, TX, 78735 General Comment In light of the nuclear disaster unfolding with the Fukushima nuclear reactors and considering that the aging reactors at STP are of the same design, I urge that the renewal application be rejected. The dangers from them aging, their design and operator failure are potentially too great to relicense them past their current license expirations. Hurricanes have been getting stronger and that presents yet another danger. We have been suffering for many years from drought conditions here in Texas. Given the huge amount of water needed for normal operation and to avert nuclear catastrophe, we would be better served to use the little water we have for agriculture and residential use. We should be investing in solar and wind and dismantling our aging reactors.
Lastly, there is no way this can be justified as a result of the lack of safe storage for thousands and thousands of years of the nuclear waste. Please reject the renewal applications. The danger to our citizens is too great.
