DAVIS-BESSE NUCLEAR POWER STATION, INFORMATION REQUEST FOR AN NRC LICENSE RENEWAL INSPECTION
Dear Mr. Allen:
On April 25, 2011, the NRC will begin a license renewal inspection at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station. This inspection will be performed in accordance with the NRC Inspection Procedure IP 71002. The on-site portion of the inspection will take place on April 25 through April 29, 2011, and May 9 through May 13, 2011.
The lead inspector for this inspection is Benny Jose. We understand that our regulatory contact for this inspection is Ms. Cathy Nesser (419) 321-8214, of your organization. If there are any questions about the inspection or this request, please contact the lead inspector at (630) 829-9756 or via e-mail at Benny.Jose@nrc.gov.
Experience has shown that these inspections are extremely resource intensive, both for the NRC inspectors and the applicant staff. In order to minimize the inspection impact on the site and to ensure a productive inspection for both parties, we would like to request the documents needed for the inspection. The lead inspector already has a copy of the original license renewal application. In order to ensure the inspection team is adequately prepared for the inspection, please provide a copy of any amendments to the application submitted after August 30, 2010. This information should be made available via compact disc to the Regional Office no later than April 8, 2011. The lead inspector will coordinate with your staff to determine what additional information the team will review, or need access to, during the on-site inspection. It is important that all documents provided are up to date and complete.
This letter does not contain new or amended information collection requirements subject to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (44 U.S.C. 3501 et seq.). Existing information collection requirements were approved by the Office of Management and Budget, Control Number 3150-0011. The NRC may not conduct or sponsor, and a person is not required to respond to, a request for information or an information collection requirement unless the requesting document displays a currently valid Office of Management and Budget control number.
